What’s Happening at DCM
Each week there are a number of meaningful activities at DCM, along with support from visiting partners and practitioners, available for the people we engage with.
In addition to DCM’s various services and supports, we also offer:
Poetry
DCM offers poetry workshops on a Tuesday where whānau can share their creative work and critique poetry.
Carving
We have a carving group where whānau are able to learn the craft, connect with their culture, and go on to grow in confidence and share their knowledge with others.
Chess
Chess is held every two weeks in Te Hāpai on a Friday morning.
Counselling
We offer one-on-one counselling support to whānau either on-site or within their own whare.
Te Awatea: A harm reduction-focused counseling group, meets twice weekly from 11am-12 on Mondays and Fridays.
Cool and Calm: A men's group, offering a non-judgmental space to explore anti-violence and anger strategies weekly on Wednesdays from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
Probation Services
Probation Services come into DCM on a Wednesday to check in with whānau who need their support.
Ministry of Social Development Support
